Eight things the Monday session has to price

For session: Mon Nov 2, 2026
The board, all 22 narratives: 4 HOT, 15 WARM, 3 QUIET
Lead story: reshoring trade

The Chicago Business Barometer fell to 55.3 in October from 58.8 on Friday, with prices paid at their highest since December 2021, while the Employment Cost Index rose 0.8 in the third quarter after 0.9 in the second. The reshoring trade, twentieth on attention, had ETFs that slipped in price, tenth of 22. Slower activity alongside faster input prices weakens the case that demand alone is lifting costs, which puts more weight on whether the national ISM survey shows the same split.

Fed regional president Alberto Musalem said on Friday that inflation is too high and that the Fed needs to act soon, and Tom Barkin of the Richmond Fed said rates need to rise further, two days after a hold on which two members voted to hike. The rate regime, fourth on attention, saw its ETFs edge higher in price, second of 22, as the 10-year yield eased. With futures already leaning toward a December hike, Friday's payrolls can only add to that pricing or start to unwind it.

Binance moved its full proof-of-reserves report to Tuesday after reopening withdrawals on Sunday, when $4.649bn left against $1.01bn deposited in the first hours, following a $6.3bn hot-wallet theft. Crypto conviction, second on attention, had ETFs that fell sharply in price on Friday, eighteenth of 22, as bitcoin dropped toward $76,700. Until that report lands the only reserve evidence predates the withdrawals, so whether the theft was contained or became a solvency question stays open through election day.

Intel shares fell to $65.76 on Friday, their worst day in decades, after Thursday's lower revenue guidance, while AMD, Qualcomm and Broadcom also fell and the Nasdaq 100 closed in correction territory. The AI compute core, fifth on attention, had ETFs that fell steeply in price, twentieth of 22. The selling reached chip designers with no exposure to Intel's foundry losses, so AMD's result on Tuesday shows whether one company's guidance is being priced as a verdict on the whole compute trade.

After strikes on the Louise 1, the RITI and Qatar's LNG carrier Al Mayeda, a vessel was hit in the strait on Sunday and another east of Ras Al Khafji on Saudi Arabia's Gulf coast, with WTI having settled at $104.12 on Friday. Geopolitical supply, seventh on attention, had the strongest ETFs of any narrative in price. Oil fell sharply early Monday as Trump signaled more time for diplomacy, leaving the price leaning on talks while the strikes move deeper into the Gulf with no dated agreement on passage.

General Dynamics earned $4.49 a share before Friday's open against $4.14 recorded beforehand, on revenue of $14.6bn, and booked $98.8bn of orders in the quarter, taking backlog to $220.3bn. The defense trade, sixth on attention, had ETFs that fell in price, thirteenth of 22. Orders at several times revenue commit years of shipyard and combat-systems work, so the narrative's constraint moves from demand to how fast the yards can deliver against it.

Dominion Energy earned $1.28 a share on an operating basis on Friday against $1.19 recorded beforehand, with contracted data-center capacity near 54.9 gigawatts, Exelon an adjusted $0.87 against $0.81, and Entergy $1.98 before Monday's open against $1.71. The power constraint, fourteenth on attention, had ETFs that slipped in price, ninth of 22. Contracted load running far ahead of what the grid delivers today means the pace at which regulators approve recovery of the build cost governs how much of it reaches earnings.

Regeneron earned $20.07 a share on a non-GAAP basis before Friday's open against $13.76 recorded beforehand, on revenue of $5.1bn, while AbbVie earned an adjusted $3.82 against $3.76 and raised its full-year guidance. The biology trade, seventeenth on attention, had ETFs that were little changed in price, fifth of 22, on a weak day for stocks. Both beats came from immunology drugs, so the result reaches the narrative's large pharmaceutical ETFs through a few franchises, and a setback in that class would travel the same route.
